Even Trump's former attorney affirms what we all know and experience deeply every day... Trump is evil. Our Constitution was never meant to provide safeguards and barriers to someone as evil and deranged as Trump. Our future depends on the Republicans in Congress and MAGA voters/supporters all across the nation realizing they have been conned by a narcissisitic, megalomaniacal grifter. MAGA is hollow, empty, and devoid of purpose and meaning outside of worship of their dear cult leader. We need to move on. We need to embrace the Constitution for what it is... a living, breathing document that provides a framework for separation of powers and checks and balances to support the three equal branches.
What Trump is doing/has done is cuckold the legislative branch into sycophantic sheep and bully the judicial branch into being the goats of oblivious irrelevance. The first step to returning to the norms/constraints of our Constitutional Democratic Republic is to have the GOP pass laws that restrict the executive's overreach in areas like tariffs and deportation policies. The next step is to hold Trump's lawless minions accountable and have the judicial branch hold in contempt the flunkey's that have flaunted judges' rulings. An example would be DHS Sec Kristi Noem who personally ignored a judge's injunction against deportation and signed off on sending detainees (mind you undocumented immigrants who were short order cooks, construction workers, and housekeepers) to CECOT, an El Salvadoran prison filled with true-to-life murderers and rapists.
This madness has to end. Trump and MAGA are the natural expressions in the decline of the American Empire. Two hundred years of seething racism and elitism by the White Anglo-Saxon Protestant powers that be has led to a hijacked political system beholden now to billionaires who have bought off career politicians and convinced a shrinking minority (white males predominantly and to a lesser extent black/brown males) that their misogynistic, jingoistic fragile sense of self/well-being is wholly dependent on a strong man dictator wanna be like Trump. When in reality, Trump just used them and the rest of MAGA for his own personal gains, politically, legally, and financially.
History will be the witness. This President is the absolute worst in American history. It will take decades to undo the damage he has done to our nation and it's people. Families have been destroyed. Political norms have been trampled. Our Constitution is hanging by threads and we need men and women with character and conviction to finally stand up against his tyranny.
